Eating Mindfully: Incorporating The Principles of Mindfulness Meditation.
On January 25th, 2014, Newton and I and the staff of Triad, have the pleasure of having Susan Rubio back at Triad Yoga and Pilates for a wonderful New Years Workshop: Eating Mindfully: Incorporating The Principles of Mindfulness Meditation. The timing of this workshop couldn't be better, given the fact so many of us are making positive changes in our life during the New Year.
On personal note, I’ve been incorporating eating mindfully for about 15 years. I was at a dinner gathering one evening back east and a good friend of mine/mentor, took me aside and said “I think you have an issue with eating”. I said “What do you mean?” She said “no person your size should be eating the quantity of food you are.”
It was that moment that set into action the idea of mindful eating. I was always told I was born with a “fast metabolism”, that some of my relatives had eaten 5 large meals a day until they were 40. But from digestion issues, to all sorts of other things including an umbilical hernia, something had to change. I started to realize the speed in which I was eating, the type of food, in combination with the quantity of food on a given plate, was causing major issues. Slowly, mindful eating changed my life. From taking the time to really smell the aroma of food, to savoring the taste, my senses came alive. Overtime, my digestion issues improved and I no longer felt the “need” to feel so full.
If you or anyone you know has issues with food or simply want to have a healthier relationship with eating, I encourage you to look into attending this workshop. As someone that is a living example of the positive effective “Eating Mindfully” can have on one’s life, I cannot tell you how thankful I am that I discovered this awareness and had people to help guide and initiate this journey.
In 2014, Newton and I and the staff at Triad, look forward to hosting some wonderful workshops and programs. We are particularly pleased Susan Rubio will be offering such a meaningful start of many great things to come.
Be Well and Namaste,

This is pure magic. Its an oasis and hidden treasure in Paradise. Whatever form of relaxation you want, its delivered! We had the best coconuts and guinep along the roadside driving from the airport. When we arrived at the villa, we were served a very deserving stew peas and rice. After a long swim, we indulged in several species of mangoes, but the best by a tally of votes are the Julie mango followed by the East Indian. Now, everyone is passed out under a cabana. What more could we ask for?? Ahhh, a red stripe!!
